Dutch Solid Silver Rococo Style Sugar Spice Caster Shaker Hallmarked c1890
Presented is an Impressive Dutch Netherlands solid silver Rococo style sugar spice caster with hallmarks for 830 fine silver made c1890. I have posted pictures of my research on this mark in the photos above. This great piece has a raised base with a scalloped edge and a beautiful detailed design of draped floral and berry motif with a pierced dome topped by a figural berry finial. The lid fits tight with a bayonet peg and slot with only a slight wiggle and has no monogram.  It is in beautiful condition with only some slight dings with no monogram only a slight wiggle on base and some fine scratches from gentle use and care. The shaker is hallmarked on the bottom with a lion passant in a hexagram with a 2 indicating 830 fine silver with an assay mark with Manerva head with an F or R in the Helmet. American Standard sterling silver is 925 so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. It is a well thought through piece and in beautiful condition. Use it for everyday use or entertaining.

Condition:
some pin prick dings, a slight looseness to tight fitting lid, a slight wobble on raised base, no monogram, some light scratches from gentle use and care.
