    Description

    This handsome wine decanter is the work of noted and premier Russian silversmith Carl Johann Tegelsten. Tegelsten, of Finnish descent, 1798-1852, was an important Russian court silversmith known for creating fine table wares for the marriages of members of the Romanov family. The decanter stand approximately 9 7/8" tall and is heavily decorated in the Neo Rococo style highly prized at the time.
