French 800 Silver Gold Gilt Vermeil Green Stone Chatelaine Etui Antique Hammered

A lovely piece of silver.
This antique French etui is crafted from 800 silver and features a beautiful hammered design. It is hallmarked with the French mark for 800 silver, a boar head, and an illegible makers mark. The etui measures 2 1/8 inches top to bottom and weighs 24.3 grams. Though beautiful it does have a few issues. First, the piece was filed twice to test for metal content at some point in the past. Second the green cabochon glass does have a small chip near the girdle and is only noticeable under close scrutiny. Lastly, there is a piece missing on the inside of the cap, perhaps a dipper for perfume. We have priced  this piece with the damage in mind. Still a fantastic item that will make a perfect addition to a collection of any caliber!
