This is so very unusual. It was in an estate so I have had a hard time finding much info in it. The owner said he believes it’s from around 1890 but doesn’t know. It was his parents and the gentleman who told me was 82 years old. It came home and out silver Polish on it and the tarnish came right off. He said it was solid silver, and the way it just cleaned right off But with no markings o am going to go with plated silver. But I can’t find any markings of any kind anywhere. It seemed exceptionally heavy for its size but it is very large. Lots of detail in the silver. I can’t figure out how you work the cork screw part. I screwed it out and put water inside to make sure there wasn’t any cracks I might not see with my eyes and it was perfect. But I don’t know if that’s really how you add liquor or not. There are no chips and no cracks at all. The seal piece screws in and out of a cork but again, maybe there is a different way o don’t know about. Sorry my flash makes the top look brass. It’s as silver color as they come. I tried in a different light for some pictures and it was more true color.
