    Description

    Antique French silver & vermeil tapered liquor flask with two fluted sides. The flask has enamel decoration featuring gold and green swags of leaves and gold ribbon.  The gold details are raised and still quite thick.  The French silver lid and removable bottom cup are fully marked for French silver.  The lid is a twist and pull with the cork still intact.  Striking green and gold enamel combination works beautifully with the silver gilt.
    French, 19th Century, marks include Minerve 1st Titre denoting silver of .950 guarantee. Maker’s mark is for Leon Champenois, operating until 1895 in Paris at Rue de Temple.  (Many thanks to an eBay member for helping to identify the mark for me).
    Measurements; 5 3/8” high
    Condition Report; Overall very good, some wear to the enamel and tarnish all in accordance with age and use.
