    Description

antique electrical test box meter resistance mahogany case.
surviving all these years we present this lovely piece of test equipment of unknown function and time.
on the bakelite deck inside are 3 sets of contact points, each set of points arranged in an arc upon which a movable contact arm rotates to select a chosen contact point on the arc. (that was a mouthful!)
in addition, two  nickel-plated terminals on the left of the deck appear to accept two probe leads (which are not included).
if i were to guess, i'd say this is a substitution set for resistance or capacitance, and i'm pretty sure it does not have apple pay.
attached with thru-bolts and nuts to the inside of the removable lid are two screw-clamp type parts which can be removed for whatever use by un-threading their fastening nuts.  i must say that their orientation in storage is critical for the lid to close properly, for they interfere with the contact arcs if not positioned as shown in the photo.  so i would suggest you mark their positions before removing them or you will spend a frustrating half-hour fiddling with their positions to get the lid to latch closed.
there is no manufacturer model no. plate of any kind on the piece.  the only markings are numerical values stamped above all of the contact points.
the wood case is sound and solid with its original finish in great condition.  i did wipe it down with a bit of lemon oil.  by the grain of the wood i'd say the case is mahogany.
    appx. 15" l x 7" w x 6" h.
    thanks for stopping by!!
