1984 Asprey Gilt Sterling Silver Amouage Oman Dagger Perfume Bottle Case 23cm

by Asprey of London
for
Amouage Eau de Toilette,
a gold plated sterling silver
sheath/cover for bottle,
in form of a
Khanjar-
Omani dagger-
handle.
Height is
9 inches or
23cm.
Weight is
263 grams.
This is large version.
I believe intended for
Amouage Gold for Men
large bottle which I believe is 120ml, not certain.
The rare few others that I have see have been for smaller 50ml bottles.
So if comparing please be aware of the size which is not always noted or apparent.

hallmarks on cap.
for Asprey & Co Ltd
of London
with date letter
"K"
for year
1984.
Also British sterling hallmarks,
lion passant and leopard's head,
on side of body and top of body under cap.
This is the silver outer case
ONLY-
does not include
perfume bottle
nor does it include
bottle stand and integral bottom which
would be necessary for bottle to fit and function in case.
Open bottom on this.
No box.
Condition:
Gilt all intact.
Some residual tarnish in some crevasses.
Top of cap has-
-a faint shallow dimple and ding at one point (to left when reading hallmark).
-a cluster of fine nicks on edge centered above hallmark.
-several fine pin sized nicks/dings.
-some scratching from handling.
These may not be easy to see in photos.
Body
-free of any dents.
-some overall light scratching and scuffing on neck and shoulders.
-a couple more visible scratches on neck area.
